Department Accommodations

Parking Services will work with departments with unique parking needs and whenever possible develop solutions to accommodate them. Any situations that require consultation with management should be done in advance to allow for communication, planning and agreement among all parties .

State Vehicles

  • State Vehicles owned by university departments must display a valid permit. These are available at no charge to departments and allow access to all state vehicles space located in non-gated lots.
  • State Vehicle Gate (SVG) permits are available at a yearly charge. These allow access to state vehicle spaces in all gated and non-gated lots.
  • State Vehicle parking spaces are reserved for use by state vehicles.
  • Use the Departmental Permit Application Form to order a State Vehicle permit.

Department Passes

  • Departmental passes allow short-term parking for authorized personnel on official university business when they need to use a lot that is outside of their permit zone.
  • The DP is not a stand-alone permit, and is only valid in conjunction with a regular permit. The DP is only valid in regular spaces that are available to a permit holder for that lot.
  • The DP is not valid in the following:
    • N05
    • Tate Center Pay Lot
    • Fire lanes
    • Reserved spaces
    • State Vehicle spaces
    • Pay-by-space sections within E13 and E15
    • Designated Patient spaces
    • Customer Parking spaces
    • Visitor spaces
  • Up to two permits per department may be purchased with a Departmental Permit Application Form using a departmental account number. A request for additional DP's must be addressed to the Parking Services manager.

Validation Passes

  • Validation Passes allow departments to validate the parking of guests and visitors in one of the campus pay facilities. These passes are purchased with a Departmental Guest Pass Order Form using a departmental account number.
  • Departments are responsible for properly informing guests/visitors where and how to use validation passes. Specifically, instruct visitors to take a time stamped ticket upon entrance and give the validation pass and ticket to the attendant when exiting. Failure to use the pass properly may result in a citation.
  • The validation pass is only valid in the following pay lots where attendants are available:
    • N11 Tate Center Deck
    • S11 South Deck
    • S15 Carlton Street Deck
    • N06 North Deck
    • W05 Hull Street Deck
    • E04 East Deck

Daily Permits

Daily Permits are available for guests of departments in lots such as N01 Chicopee Complex, E13, E14, and E15 River's Crossing. These may also be used to accommodate departmental parking in areas farther from pay lots where space may be available. Departments should arrange for such parking well in advance to ensure availability.

Intersession Parking

 

Intersession Services will be provided on Monday & Tuesday, November 23 & 24. Due to the University furlough, Parking Services will not operate on November 25 nor will service be provided over the Thanksgiving holiday, November 26-29. Regular service will resume Monday, November 30, 2009.

  • N02-Oconee Gravel lot
  • W06-Legion Pool area
  • S15-Carlton Street Deck
  • E05-East Village Deck

A valid UGA permit is required to utilize these lots; however, the permit can be for any other lot on the UGA Campus.

2008 Chancellor's Customer Service Excellence Award - Team Gold

Parking maintains over 23,000 parking spaces and 8 parking decks on the University of Georgia campus to meet the needs of faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

  • Anyone operating a motor vehicle on University property must register the vehicle with Parking Services.
  • Most lots open after 5pm. Some lots require a permit up to 10:00pm. Please refer to the Enforcement Hours map for more details.
  • Visitor parking is available in the following locations: North Deck, South Deck, Carlton St. Deck Tate Center Deck, and East Deck. Payment methods include cash or checks.
  • If your vehicle becomes disabled on campus and you are unable to move it, contact Parking Services immediately.
  • Appeals: Student appeals are adjudicated by a board comprised of students. Faculty/Staff appeals are adjudicated by faculty/staff members. Appeals can be delayed depending on the class/work schedules of the student and faculty/staff board members.
