What are the hours of operations for Parking Services?
Answer: Our hours are 7:30am - 5:00pm Monday through
Friday.
What is the cost of parking permits?
Answer: Permits are sold for the academic year or calendar
year and are good through Spring or Summer. Generally, the cost beginning August
1, 2008 is $20, $30, or $40 per month depending on the lot. Permits can not be purchased
month to month. The price is prorated through the year
Is there anywhere on campus where I can park free?
Answer: There are no free parking areas on campus.
Can freshmen bring cars to campus?
Answer: Yes. However, you must register and be assigned
a permit to be able to park. Parking is limited and permits are allocated based
on the priority system.
What methods of payments does Parking Services accept?
Answer: Credit card, check or cash.
Do I need to register my car if I park on campus?
Answer: All vehicles parked on the property of the University
of Georgia must display a valid state license tag or visible vehicle identification
number (VIN). It is highly recommended to register any vehicle that you drive on
campus, even if you don’t have a parking permit.
What are the enforcement hours for permit only lots?
Answer: Generally, enforcement hours are 7:00am - 5:00pm
Monday through Friday; Housing Lots are restricted from 7:00am - 10:00pm Monday

What parking hours are the Ramsey Center enforced?
Answer: The Ramsey Center’s enforcement hours
are 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday through Friday.
What do I do if I need to load/unload materials at a dorm, academic building, or
other facility?
Answer: Any valid UGA permit holder may call Parking
Services at (706-542-PARK) for a 30 minute approval to load and unload large items
that cannot be transported using campus transit.
What should I do if I have to drive a different vehicle?
Answer: Ensure that the vehicle is registered to your
account. Hangtags and decals can be transferred between different vehicles you drive.
Non-AVI Decals can be peeled off your windshield and reaffixed to another car. If
a windshield decal stops adhering, the permit holder may obtain a replacement at
no charge by returning the defective permit to Parking Services.
What do I do if I left my permit in another vehicle?
Answer: Temporary permits are available to permit holders
who have left their regular permit at home. Two complimentary permits will be issued
with subsequent permits issued at a cost of $5 per day beginning August 1, 2008.
Which lots/decks are recommended for resident students?
Answer: East Campus (E05, E06); North Campus (N08, N10);
South Campus (S11); West Campus (W08, W09, W10, W11, W13)
When will Football Passes be available for the 2008 Season?
Answer: Not certain as of exact date, but probably July.
When will the new Tate Center Deck become fully functional?
Answer: The Tate Lot will close after graduation (May
‘08) and the new deck is expected to open sometime next fall.
Are citations written over intersession, holidays, weekends and nights?
Answer: Yes. Parking Services will follow an intersession
schedule when class is not in session and the campus is still open for business.
This information will be posted on the Intersession Parking section on the right
side.
What is the Alternative Transportation Program (ATP)?
Answer: As a way to reduce the demand for parking on
campus, UGA Parking Services is offering parking incentives for those who choose
to ride The Bus, car pool, bike, walk or ride a motorcycle, scooter/moped as their
primary means of transportation.
What is the Motorist Assistance Program (MAP)?
Answer: Complimentary motorist assistance is available
for parking permit holders and guests. Services includes vehicle jump-starts, vehicle
recovery (forget where you parked), notify customers when lights are left on, and
assist with information/directions for campus events. The Parking Services Department
provides this service to our permit holders and guest free of charge.
