What is the Alternative Transportation Program (ATP)?
Answer: As a way to reduce the demand for parking on
campus, UGA Parking Services is offering parking incentives for those who choose
to ride The Bus, car pool, bike, walk or ride a motorcycle, scooter/moped as their
primary means of transportation.
What is the Motorist Assistance Program (MAP)?
Answer: Complimentary motorist assistance is available
for parking permit holders and guests. Services includes vehicle jump-starts, vehicle
recovery (forget where you parked), notify customers when lights are left on, and
assist with information/directions for campus events. The Parking Services Department
provides this service to our permit holders and guest free of charge.
What do I do if I need to load/unload materials at a dorm, academic building, or
other facility?
Answer: Any valid UGA permit holder may call Parking
Services at (706-542-PARK) for a 30 minute approval to load and unload large items
that cannot be transported using campus transit.
Which lots/decks are recommended for resident students?
Answer: East Campus (E05, E06); North Campus (N08, N10)
South Campus (S11); West Campus (W08, W09, W10, W11, W13)
How do I pay for my student parking permit?
Answer: All permit fees will be transferred to the Student
Accounts division of the Bursar’s Office.
I am a resident with a permit and I can’t find a place to park, what should
I do?
Answer: Notify Parking Services at (706) 542-PARK and
we will direct you where to park.
I am a commuter and do not know where to park, what should I do?
Answer: Visit www.parking.uga.edu, and register for
your preferred lot or come to Parking Services and purchase an available over the
counter permit.
Can I send my tow or boot fee to my student account?
Answer: Certain fees such as tow fees or immobilization
fees will be paid at the Parking Services office.
Why don’t the Parking Decks accept credit cards?
Answer: In order to process credit cards safely, very
stringent guidelines must be followed. Parking Services has not yet been able to
ensure complete protection for the customer’s credit card and will not put
customer’s sensitive data at risk.
Can students park anywhere on nights and weekends?
Answer: Visit www.parking.uga.edu under regulations,
for hours of regulation enforcement for specific lots.
How can I safely get to my dorm if I am assigned to park across campus?
Answer: Arrange to have someone accompany you or contact
the Escort Van Service at (706)542-2000. Visit http://www.police.uga.edu/escortservice.html more about
