Pay / Appeal Citations
I am a student, how do I pay for a ticket?
Answer: All tickets issued to students will be charged
to the Student Account the next business day. All other tickets can be paid on the
Parking Services website at www.parking.uga.edu, in person at the Parking Services
Office, or through the mail.
How does an employee pay for citations?
Answer: Employees may pay at the Parking Services website,
via mail or in person.
What happens if I don't pay my fines?
Answer: Students will have their OASIS account flagged
until payment is made. Employees’ fines will be deducted from payroll when
possible
How do I appeal a citation?
Answer: Access the Pay / Appeal tab and enter data in
the required fields. Citations may be appealed within ten (10) calendar days of
the issue date. All appeals must be done in writing and submitted to Parking Services
electronically, fax, mail, or in person.
Who is responsible for reviewing student parking appeals?
Answer: The University Judiciary Board reviews student
appeals of on-campus parking violations. Members of the board are students at the
University and volunteer to perform duties in the spirit of service to the University’s
community as a whole.
How long is the appeals process and when should I expect to have a decision?
Answer: Board members serve on a voluntary basis and
decisions are expected within 4-6 weeks from the date of the appeal.
What is the purpose of the Faculty/Staff Appeals Board?
Answer: To consider all appeals from faculty and staff
concerning parking tickets and fines at The University of Georgia.
What members comprise the Faculty/Staff Appeals Board?
Answer: Two voting members of the Faculty/Staff Parking
Appeals Committee, Two staff members, elected by the Staff Council, and One representative
from Parking Services shall serve as a non-voting member.
Can I appeal a citation I don’t think I should have received?
Answer: Yes, Citations must be formally appealed and
the respective court recommends receipt of the appeal within ten (10) calendar days
of the issue date. Appeals submitted late will not be accepted (new policy).
The decision on your appeal will be sent to you via email or mail within 4-6 weeks.
Are there any time restrictions when appealing citations?
Answer: Yes, Citations must be formally appealed and
should be done so within ten (10) calendar days of the issue date (new policy).
Why does my student account reflect a charge for a parking citation when I appealed
the citation?
Answer: Appeals will not defer transfer of fines or
late charges to Student Accounts for payment obligation. If a citation is appealed
and dismissed, the student will be issued a credit to their student account.
What can I submit as evidence for an appeal?
Answer: Evidence includes doctor’s notes, receipts,
photographs or anything else you feel may help your appeal.
How do I submit evidence?
Answer: Please bring evidence to the Parking Services
office within 48 hours of filing an appeal.
